Who will benefit from attending?
These one day courses is designed for any of the above staff who work in the residential sector. All courses are a full day and they can be delivered with or without an examination to confirm understanding of the training.
Course overviews:
Concierge staff:
- To provide an understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
- To understand the Means of Escape – basic principles.
- Be aware of Fire Prevention techniques.
- To be able to describe Fire routines.
- To understand the duties of Concierge staff with regard to fire.
- To be able to carry out basic checks and identify common faults in fire doors.
- To be able to carry out basic checks of compartmentation, identify common issues and how to rectify them.
Housing officers:
- To provide an understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
- To understand the Means of Escape – basic principles.
- Be aware of Fire Prevention techniques.
- To be able to describe Fire routines.
- To understand the duties of Housing staff with regard to fire.
- To be able to carry out basic checks and identify common faults in fire doors.
- To be able to carry out basic checks of compartmentation, identify common issues and how to rectify them.
Sheltered housing officers:
- Understand employers’ / employees’ responsibilities under current fire safety legislation.
- Be aware of fire prevention techniques and good practice.
- Understand the Means of Escape (in case of fire) – basic principles.
- Describe Fire Routines- good practice.
- Understand the duties of staff.
- Be able to carry out basic checks and identify common faults in fire doors and identify when action needs to be taken in respect of emergency escape lighting luminaires, AFD control panels, signage etc.
- Appreciate typical information to be provided with PEEPS.
