Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems for Buildings
Code of Practice for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems in domestic premises
BS 5839-6 is the relevant British Standard for the design, installation and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems in dwellings and sheltered housing. The scope of the systems covered range from a single battery operated smoke alarm installed in a small dwelling to full fire detection systems of the type covered by BS 5839-1. BS 5839-6 is the appropriate code of practice to apply when a fire alarm system is installed in a single family dwelling, whether a house, flat or maisonette, and in houses in multiple occupation, including shared houses and houses converted into bedsits or flats
This comprehensive one day course provides an in-depth examination of the recommendations of BS 5839-6. The course provides a valuable insight into the thinking behind the recommendations.
