Education and Training

Public seminars and in-house specialist courses on fire legislation, fire precautions and fire protection systems.

Specialist in-house and public courses include those on fire risk assessment.  Our 3.5 day fire risk assessment course is approved by the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), which offers those successful in the course examination 'fast track' onto the IFE Register of Risk Assessors and Auditors.  We also provide training on British Standards including BS 5839 and BS 9999.

We have substantial experience providing training to people working in both the public and private sectors, including inspecting officers of fire and rescue services, who now have responsibility for enforcing fire safety legislation, and large corporate clients.

Additionally, we offer introductory fire safety courses, as well as fire warden/marshal training to assist companies in their compliance with statutory duties in every workplace.

Our introductory fire safety course, or fire awareness course, covers the following topics:

Fire warden training is more in depth, and is aimed at those with responsibilities relating to emergency procedures, covering the following:

Fire Evacuation Drills

Fire evacuation drills need to be carried out at regular intervals in the vast majorities of premises, under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.  We have substantial experience in supervising and monitoring fire evacuation drills at client premises.   We can conduct fire evacuation drills on behalf of managing agents, liaising with tenants to provide feedback on the outcome, followed by the preparation of a report and recommendations relating to improvements.

Drills can form the basis of an audit of the effectiveness of training received by staff.  They also provide an invaluable insight into fire safety management in a mock emergency situation, as well as a test of the physical fire precautions, including the fire alarm system and fire exit doors.
